Male driver arrested after ramming into back of Detroit police cruiser on I-75 Service Drive

The man, along with two police officers, were treated for non life-threatening injuries

DETROIT (WWJ) - A driver found himself in handcuffs early Friday morning after authorities say he injured two officers when his vehicle slammed into a Detroit police patrol car on the I-75 Service Drive in Detroit.

Detroit police Cpl. Dan Donakowski told WWJ that the crash occurred at 3:25 a.m. on April 28 at Mack and I-75 in the city.

Two police officers, along with the male driver, all sustained non life-threatening injuries when the man's vehicle rear-ended the cruiser.

Donakowski said the driver was arrested, but the circumstances that led up to the crash are unclear. Police did not say if speed, alcohol or drugs were factors in the crash.

The driver's identity was not released.
