BELLEVILLE (WWJ) -- A multi-car crash in Wayne County on Monday night sent one driver to the hospital with critical injuries.
Investigators say the crash happened at approximately 11:10 p.m. on westbound I-94 at Haggerty.
Officials say a Chrysler 200 traveling in the left lane when it rear-ended a PT Cruiser. Then a pickup truck couldn't stop on time and ended up striking the Chrysler. Afterward, the truck was rear-ended by a Chevy Cruise.
The driver who initiated the chain reaction crash was taken to a local hospital with critical head injuries.
There were no other reported injuries.
The investigation is ongoing, but officials believe the Chrysler had been following too closely.
