PONTIAC, Mich. (WWJ) -- A Pontiac woman is dead after a three-car crash that police say may have been caused by a drunk driver.

Authorities say the 46-year-old woman was headed eastbound on Michigan Avenue in her 2011 Buick Regal just before 7 p.m. Tuesday when she made a left turn onto Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Investigators say as she was turning, a 2007 BMW 750 driven by a 46-year-old Mt. Clemens man crashed into her Buick and a 2009 Dodge Journey that was also waiting to turn onto MLK.

The Pontiac woman was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 21-year-old Detroit woman inside the Dodge was treated at the scene

Police say the driver of the BMW that crashed into the other vehicles was taken to McLaren Regional Medical Center in Pontiac, where he was treated for minor injuries.

The Oakland County Sheriff's Office says a search warrant was completed for a blood draw from the Mt. Clemens man, and results are pending. He was lodged at the Oakland County Jail for suspicion of driving under the influence.

Authorities say it is believed all drivers involved in the crash were wearing seatbelts, while alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.

Police have not released the name of the suspect or either victim.
