MONROE (WWJ) -- An elderly couple from Canton was killed yesterday morning in a crash just outside of Sterling State Park in Monroe.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Department says Larimore McDougall and his wife Marilyn, both 85, were exiting the park on Wednesday and attempting to turn onto North Dixie Highway when their car was struck by a pickup truck.
Larimore was declared dead at the scene, while Marilyn died at the hospital.
The other driver, a 55-year-old woman, was also taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the crash, which remains under investigation.
