(WWJ) - A former Farmington High School basketball coach could find out today if he will stand trial for sexual assault charges.

Jerremy Thompkins, 43, of Detroit, has a hearing scheduled this afternoon in 36th District Court. Thompkins is charged with two counts of criminal sexual conduct after investigators claimed he allegedly raped two teen boys in his home in Detroit this summer.

According to an earlier WWJ article, Detroit Prosecutor Kym Worthy charged Thompkins for the alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old boy from Farmington Hills and a 16-year-old boy from Oak Park which occurred from August 2023 to October 2023.

Thompkins was arrested on Oct. 24. He was charged with one count of criminal sexual conduct in the second degree and one count of criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree.

Three other basketball coaches were also fired by Farmington Public Schools over the allegations, according to the earlier WWJ article. An investigation launched by the school district found that the other coaches were allegedly aware of the players going to Thompkins’ Detroit home and did not report it, a violation of district policy.
