FORT GRATIOT TWP. (WWJ) — The “all clear” has been given after a bomb threat at a Michigan Home Depot store led to a large police response Monday afternoon.

Around 3:30 p.m. the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office was alerted to a bomb threat found written on the wall of a bathroom stall at the Home Depot on 24th Avenue in Fort Gratiot Township, just north of Port Huron.

Deputies quickly responded to the store, calling for area bomb-sniffing K9 units to respond. The Fort Gratiot Fire Department also staged in the area.

K9 units with the Michigan State Police and Port Huron Police Department went to the store and “worked meticulously” to clear the building, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office.

Authorities did not find a bomb and officials said “nothing of concern” was located and the store reopened for normal business.

“If you ever do come across a note, threat, or something you believe to be of concern, please do not hesitate to call 911,” St. Clair County Sheriff Mat King said.

Officials did reveal the exact content of the reported bomb threat and did not say whether a suspect has been identified.
