HIGHLAND PARK (WWJ) - One Faurecia employee is in police custody after they allegedly shot and killed a coworker over a dispute that spilled out into the parking lot Wednesday morning, authorities said.
Highland Park police is currently at the scene of the global automotive supplier off Oakland Park Boulevard where they say one person employed at the company is dead.
"About an hour or so ago there was some kind of confrontation inside the plant between two employees," WWJ's Charlie Langton reported. "Then they took their argument outside to the parking lot. One employee pulled out a gun, shot the other employee and now that employee is dead."
Langton added the alleged shooter was arrested at the scene. It remains unclear if the plant is currently open.
Police are still investigating the incident. Other details surrounding what led to the fatal shooting has not been released, but more information is expected by authorities at a later time.
