FLINT (WWJ) -- A Flint man stands accused of terrorism, along with five other charges, after calling in multiple threats to local McLaren Hospital last week.
On Saturday, Apr. 1, Michigan State Police troopers from the Flint Post responded to McLaren Hospital -- located north of Corunna Rd and east of I-75 -- to investigate an incident where threats were made against the healthcare facility.
Upon arriving and looking into the matter, officers determined that the suspect was upset about the medical care the hospital had provided in the previous weeks.
According to MSP, this man had made two phone calls to McLaren that same day. He spoke with a staff member and threatened to "shoot up the place" and drive his truck through the front doors.
Police went to the suspect's residence and took him into custody, lodging him at the Genesee County Jail.
The man is identified as Edvin Pendleton Williams, 61, of Flint.
He was arraigned Tuesday and faces six charges, including terrorism.
Williams is a convicted felon and, therefore, prohibited from possessing a firearm. Despite this, MSP said a search of the defendant's home turned up a pistol and ammunition, which were seized.
Police have confirmed that no one was harmed over the course of this incident.
