DETROIT (WWJ) -- Flooding at Orchestra Hall is forcing the Detroit Symphony Orchestra to cancel its annual Salute to America performance this weekend.
The DSO says recent extreme weather and rain overwhelmed the Detroit storm drain system, which led to flooding and water damage at the Fisher Music Center.
While officials deal with the damage, the building — located at 3711 Woodward Ave — is closed under further notice. As a result, this Sunday's concert is canceled.
The DSO plans to webcast past patriotic performances in its place on July 4 at DSO.org.
Still, those who are hoping to catch a live showing from the orchestra during the holiday weekend are in luck.
The Salute to America: Summer Stroll events at Greenfield Village, which feature DSO musicians, will proceed as planned through Saturday, July 3.
