GAYLORD (WWJ) If you’re heading Up North this Fourth of July week, you may want to be on the lookout for flooding.
The National Weather Service (NWS) reports more than four inches of rain fell on Monday, June 29, in Cheboygan and Emmet counties, just south of the Mackinac Bridge.

Flooding washed out several roads, including along the Tunnel of Trees on M-119. Authorities have also closed multiple areas along M-88, near Torch Lake, due to flooding (see complete list below).
Wind gusts topped 50 miles per hour during Monday’s storms, according to NWS.
Transportation authorities are also reminding you to drive with caution in flooded areas. They say do not attempt to cross flooded roads, and to find an alternate route.
The following roads are closed as of 9 a.m. Tuesday, June 30th:
M-66 south of East Jordan in Antrim County is closed due to a culvert failure.
M-88 east of Eastport in Antrim County, closed due to water over the roadway.
M-88 (both sides) near Farrell Road in Antrim County, closed due to a washout.
M-119 south of Good Hart, Emmet County, closed due to water over the roadway.
MDOT says other roads may be closed. Transportation authorities remind everyone traveling to check michigan.gov/Drive for updated state road closures (I, M and US routes) and detours.
