Dearborn, MI (WWJ) Ford is recalling 422,613 pickups and SUVs because of windshield wiper arms that can break, impacting visibility.

The recall includes certain 2021 through 2023 Lincoln Navigator, Ford Expeditions and some Super Duty pickups from the 2022 and 2023 model years.

Ford saw a rising number of customer complaints of the windshield washer arms breaking and in some cases falling off of vehicles. The company says it’s had more than 1500 warranty claims. No crashes or injuries have been reported.

The wiper assembly may have been put together improperly at a supplier. Ford says drivers could notice the wipers working erratically before they fail completely.

Dealers will inspect the wipers, and, if needed, replace them.

Recall notices will be sent out with more information. Owners who have questions can call Ford Customer Service at 866 436-7332.
