FLUSHING (WWJ) — A Garden City man has been arraigned on multiple felony charges, including attempted murder, after an alleged drive-by shooting in the Flint area last week.

Paul Andrew Peake, 46, is charged with assault with intent to murder, two counts of felony firearm, discharge of a firearm from a vehicle causing injury and reckless use of a firearm.

The charges stem from an alleged shooting around 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 27 in Flushing, about 10 miles west of Flint.

Flushing police officials said Tuesday officers were called to a shooting on Main Street, where they were directed to the alley behind Skip's Come Back Inn and found a 29-year-old Flint man who had been shot.

Officers rendered immediate aid until he was taken to Hurley Medical Center, where he was last listed in stable condition.

The victim and witnesses were able to give police a description of the suspect and the car he was driving, according to Flushing police. Investigators used FLOCK cameras to identify Peake and the car he was in.

Michigan State Police found the car at an address in Flushing a short time later and Peake was taken into custody, while the car and gun he used were seized.

Authorities have not released any other details, including a possible motive, about the shooting.

Bond was set at $50,000 on the assault with intent to murder charge and $5,000 for each of the other four charges.

Flushing police officials are asking anyone who was a witness or may have video of the alleged shooting to call the department at 810-659-3119.
