(WWJ) A community is coming together to support the family of a 4-year-old Lake Orion girl who was tragically injured in a lawnmower accident last Friday (Aug. 21).

According to her family, Brielle was life-flighted to an out-of-state hospital where medical teams performed an emergency amputation of her foot.

She has has undergone several follow-up procedures to clean the wound and assess the damage, with doctors attempting major reconstructive surgery to determine if the rest of her leg can be spared.

Now the family has launched a GoFundMe campaign to cover the overwhelming expenses of specialized care, prosthetics, travel, and ongoing rehabilitation while her parents remain away from home.

In the fundraiser update, her family talked about the emotional and logistical weight of the situation:

"For Brielle’s parents, the challenge isn’t only helping their little girl heal physically. They are learning how to navigate an entirely new reality while trying to be there for their daughter, care for their other children, make difficult medical decisions, and manage the financial burden that comes with an extended medical crisis. This has been an incredibly difficult time, both physically and emotionally, and the road ahead will be long."

Amid these ongoing challenges, the family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support and emphasized how much every contribution, prayer, and share of the campaign means to them during this painful time.

"Most importantly, please keep Brielle and her family in your prayers. Pray for healing. Pray for strength for her parents. Pray for wisdom for her doctors and medical team. Pray for her sister and brother as they walk through this alongside her. And pray that Brielle would know, even in the middle of everything she is facing, just how deeply she is loved."
