DEARBORN (WWJ) - A video posted to social media appears to capture people aiming fireworks in the direction of Dearborn police Thursday night, authorities said.

The video, posted to Instagram, appears to show fireworks being shot off in the direction of Dearborn Police vehicles. The video is captioned “group of teens throw fireworks at Dearborn Police.”

Corporal Dan Bartok said that two officers received minor injuries during the incident. Neither officer was taken to the hospital for treatment.

The department was “extremely busy” responding to calls related to fireworks on July 4, according to Bartok.

Numerous citations were issued for improper use of fireworks, disorderly conduct and curfew violations Thursday night. No arrests have been made yet in relation to the incident, authorities said.

“We will identify those individuals and hold them accountable,” Bartok said.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Dearborn Police Department.
