WEST BLOOMFIELD (WWJ) -- A gunman who barricaded himself inside a West Bloomfield Township home for more than 12 hours has surrendered.
Police said the 45-year-old suspect was taken into custody just after noon on Halloween, at a home on Pebble Creek Woods Dr., near 14 Mile and Farmington roads.
Late Saturday night, neighbors in the 6,000-block of Pebble Creek Woods had been told to stay inside their houses as police responded to a call about a domestic situation involving gunfire.
"We called in our Special Response Team, which includes a crisis negotiation unit," West Bloomfield Deputy Police Chief Kirk Lawson told WWJ Newsradio 950, Sunday morning. "They have been in contact with the subject throughout the night. We have a perimeter around the residence itself. We've been talking to family members, expression that we want this obviously to resolve peacefully."
Police said the suspect did fire one shot, but no one was injured.
No further details are being shared by police at this time regarding the domestic incident.
The suspect's name has not yet been released, with expected charges pending.
