HARRISON TOWNSHIP (WWJ) - A motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Harrison Township Monday evening.
Macomb County Sheriff's Office deputies were called to South River Road for a "motorcyclist driving recklessly and weaving in and out of the roadway" at around 7:10 p.m. on March 4, according to a statement from the Sheriff's Office.
Dispatch received another call right after saying a motorcyclist had lost control and crashed near Hamon Street.
22-year-old Ryan Lieb, of Chesterfield Township, was found unresponsive in the middle of South River Road by deputies.
Lieb was pronounced dead at the scene, the statement said.
An investigation found that Lieb was traveling on South River Road near Townhall Street. He passed another vehicle in the oncoming traffic lane at a high rate of speed. Lieb hit a Ford Explorer on the rear passenger side. The Explorer was turning into a residence.
Lieb was thrown from the motorcycle.
The Macomb County Sheriff's Office Crash Team investigated the crash.
Authorities say it does not appear that alcohol was a factor at this time.
