EAST LANSING (WWJ) - Messy winter weather has slammed Michigan over the last few days and it appears Spartan Stadium wasn't spared as heavy snowfall forced a section of the upper deck to close on Saturday.
MSU faced off against the Indian Hoosiers Nov. 19 in East Lansing, not 24 hours after extreme lake-effect snow impacted Mid-Michigan.
The accumulating snow forced fans into new seats after MSU announced they were closing off the east upper desk for the game.
Officials said people originally seated in that area would be moved to other available seats.

East Lansing is due to continue to see lake-effect snow until at least Saturday night. A Winter Weather Advisory for Ionia, Eaton, and Calhoun counties is due to expire at 7 a.m. Sunday.
The National Weather Service said additional snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches could be expected still with winds gusting as high as 35 mph.
Wind chills will drop into single digits, leading to potentially slippery road conditions continuing into Sunday morning.
Meanwhile, meteorologists in New York say roughly 77” of lake-effect snow fell on the field at Highmark Stadium, home to the Buffalo Bills.
This is not the first time the Bills have had a game relocated to Detroit due to a blizzard. In 2014 Buffalo’s game with the Jets was moved to Ford Field.
