If that's not possible and you have to head out, Accuweather Meteorologist Dean DeVore warns today's weather is going to be chilly and rainy ... and windy. A high wind advisory begins at 11 a.m. and ends at 8 p.m.
The wind is going to howl, gusting to 45 mph an hour today, DeVore says, while temperatures hover in the 40s. "It's just going to be ugly," the meteoroligist said.
Possible power outages and flooding is expected in some areas, especially downriver, as wind whips up the water. A lakeshore flood warning remains in effect from 11 a.m. today to 4 a.m. Friday in Monroe County, with significant flooding expected.
Numerous roads will be closed and low lying property
including parking lots, lawns, and homes and businesses will
be inundated near the lake, according to the National Weather Service.
The water levels along the shoreline of Lake Erie is now at 47 inches above low water datum, and is forecasted to rise to or slightly above 72 inches above low
water datum this afternoon and evening as northeast winds gust
to 40 MPH.
Meanwhile, across the region real feel temperatures will stay in the 30s. More advice: Hang onto your hat, your scarf and your steering wheel.
Tomorrow will being breezy and chilly weather again, but with sun. But temperatures will rise to the mid-60s by Monday for the official start of spring.
