STERLING HEIGHTS (WWJ) -- One innocent person has died following a police chase and crash in Sterling Heights.
WWJ's Charlie Langton reports that the incident started around 11:30pm last night, when several vehicles were stolen from the Orchard Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram dealership at 30 Mile Road and Van Dyke in Washington Township.
Four stolen vehicles fled the scene in different directions, and one of them -- a red Jeep Grand Cherokee -- then became involved in a chase with police, going southbound on Van Dyke. Deputies then ended the pursuit.
The situation ended at 15 Mile Road and Van Dyke when the Jeep Grand Cherokee crashed into a light pole and two other cars, causing the vehicle to flip over.
It was confirmed that the victim of the crash was a 20-year-old women, who was uninvolved in the crime.
The suspect who was driving the stolen vehicle is now is policy custody, but the passenger is still at large.
The three other car thieves and the cars, which included two Dodge Chargers and a Challenger, haven't been found.
