PONTIAC (WWJ) -- The sixteen-year-old charged with committing the tragic Oxford High School shooting was back in court today for a monthly review to determine whether or not he would remain in Oakland County Jail.
Ethan Crumbley -- a minor -- is required to have a review every thirty days in order to be held in Oakland County Jail -- an adult facility.
According to WWJ Legal Analyst Charlie Langton, the purpose of the review is to affirm that Crumbley is being kept separate from the general jail population and that he is receiving an adequate education while in custody.
Langton said that Thursday's review was conducted over Zoom before Judge Kwame Rowe, lasted only a couple of minutes, and that "nothing will change."
After the review, Judge Rowe ordered all parties to appear in his court in person on Monday, October 24, for a pre-trial.
During the pre-trial, they will discuss whether the case is ready to go to trial or whether more time is needed.
The trial -- originally scheduled for September 2022 -- was moved to January 17, 2023 after Crumbley's defense attorneys asked for more time to review the massive amount of evidence.
Crumbley faces twenty-four charges, including four counts of first-degree murder and one count of terrorism causing death.
