WARREN (WWJ) – A musical group once dubbed "the best singing band of all time" is coming to Metro Detroit this weekend.
The Little River Band, best known for hits like "Reminiscing" and "Lonesome Loser," will play Friday night at the Andiamo Celebrity Showroom in Warren.
WWJ's Erin Vee caught up with Wayne Nelson, LRB's lead singer and bass player for the last 42 years to talk about touring, keeping the band together after all these years and what's on his bucket list.
Nelson says he never predicted being in the music industry for 42 years, let alone one band, because that's how things were when LRB first formed.
"In the late, mid-60s, you got in a band and you were lucky if it lasted for a year or two, and at five years, the jazz community or the hippie community was 'oh, you're selling out, you're with the same guys. Bands aren't supposed to last more than two or three years,'" Nelson said.
Tickets to the show are available at Andiamoshowroom.com or by calling 586-268-3200.
