LIVONIA (WWJ) A Livonia man accused of gunning down four people with a semi-automatic rifle, including his own parents and brother, has been charged with First Degree Murder.
Wayne County Prosecutors charged Gage Pierce, 25, with four counts of First Degree Murder and four counts of Felony Firearm.
“A whole family was wiped out. Very tragically, it is extremely hard to protect yourself from a murderer in your own home," Prosecutor Kym Worthy said. "This domestic violence mass homicide could have happened anywhere and at any time..."
The victims were identified as the defendant's parents Holly Kimball, 53, and Sterling Pierce, 58; his brother, Tanner Pierce, 22; and his brother's girlfriend, Neveah Finch, 21, of Warren.
Prosecutors said he fired a semi-automatic rifle at the victims multiple times and killed them on Tuesday, June 9, around 5:30 p.m., at their home on Rensellor in the area of 7 Mile and Inkster.
Authorities said officers arrived and found Tanner and Neveah inside a bedroom. They discovered Holly and Sterling on the backyard patio of the home. All were suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Medics pronounced the victims dead at the scene. The family dog, who had one gunshot wound to its front right leg, was rushed to Veterinary Service West in Plymouth for treatment. Livonia officers arrested Pierce at the scene.
Authorities did not release a motive, but Livonia Police described his relationship with his parents as "contentious."
Pierce was arraigned on Friday, June 12. A judge denied his bond.
“The officers and the City of Livonia mourns the loss of this family," Livonia Police Chief Thomas Goralski said. "We will continue to work with the Wayne County Prosecutor and her team to ensure that justice is served, for the family and for our community.”
He was remanded to prison.
