LIVONIA (WWJ) — A suspect is behind bars after Livonia police department made a large drug bust following a routine traffic stop.
In early December a Livonia police officer made a traffic stop, leading to what police officials called "an extensive narcotic investigation."
While authorities have not released many details, officials said that investigation led to the suspect's arrest on Dec. 18 in Dearborn Heights.
While serving a search warrant that day, investigators seized five kilograms of cocaine and more than $340,000 in cash.
Livonia police officials said the confiscated drugs have an estimated street value of more than $750,000.
"This case represents our continuing commitment to serving and protecting our communities here in Southeast Michigan," Livonia police officials said in a press release.
Authorities have not released the suspect's name and it was not clear any other arrests have or will be made.
