DETROIT (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police briefly shut down a Detroit-area freeway, late Friday morning, as part of an investigation.

Shortly after 10 a.m., the MSP Second District said it would be closing the northbound Lodge Freeway (M-10) near 7 Mike Rd. to allow troopers to investigation a "felonious assault" that was reported Tuesday.

MSP urged drivers to expect delays in the area, before the northbound Lodge reopened at around 11 a.m.

Police did not immediately released any details about that alleged assault, and it's not clear at this time if investigators found any evidence on the freeway.
