DETROIT (WWJ) -- Michigan State Police closed a stretch of southbound I-75 in downtown Detroit Wednesday morning, after a man fell onto the freeway.
Troopers were called to the scene just after 8 a.m. on reports about a man on foot on the Cass Ave. overpass who was leaning over the freeway.
The man fell a short time later and was taken by police to Detroit Receiving Hospital for treatment.
MSP said the man's injuries not not appear to be life-threatening.
At this time it's not clear what the man was doing on the overpass when he fell, or if he may have jumped.
Police said the southbound freeway would be closed for an investigation. At 9:30 a.m., two lanes were open at the scene.
