ALLEN PARK (WWJ) -- A fatal train crash is under investigation Downriver on Wednesday.
According to Allen Park Police, the department got a report shortly after 10 a.m. that a person had been struck by a train, in the area of Pelham Road and Wick Road in Allen Park, and officers responded.
Police said it was man who was hit, and that he has died, but they have not released any details about how it happened.
At this time, the man's name is not being released.
Traffic was backed up in the area as a result of this incident.
Police asked the public to stay away from the scene, to allow investigators to do their work. At 11:30 a.m. the roadway was open, by police said the area may be open and closed periodically.
