DETROIT (WWJ) – Police have arrested a man and woman who were wanted in connection with a shooting Tuesday afternoon that injured a man and left his dog dead.
The shooting happened shortly before 3:30 p.m. Tuesday in the area of 7 Mile and Greenfield Roads, according to Detroit police.
The Detroit Police Department on Wednesday released photos of the suspects, identified as 24-year-old Jeremiah Bennett and 30-year-old Ashanti Jackson, asking for tips as to their whereabouts.
In an update Thursday morning, the DPD said Bennett and Jackson had been taken into custody by Detroit Police officers. Police did not say where they were located.
According to investigators. Jackson allegedly drove up on a 41-year-old man and his dog in the 19300 block of Murray Hill in a green 2009 Dodge Journey with Michigan plate No. ERE-0145 and Bennett allegedly fired multiple shots.
The man was injured, while his dog was killed.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic dispute between Jackson and the victim over their children.

Expected charges against the suspects are pending.
