Man killed in stabbing at Southfield gas station, suspect on the run: police

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) A man has died after he was found stabbed at a Southfield gas station.

Southfield Police said they were called to the BP Gas Station on West 8 Mile near Lahser, around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 12. The caller reported a man bleeding in the parking lot.

Upon arrival, officers found the victim bleeding from an "apparent stab wound," police said. He was rushed to a local hospital by Southfield Fire and Rescue, where he died from his injuries.

Preliminary investigation suggests the suspect and the victim knew each other. Police said "there appears to be no additional threat to the public."

The victim's name and age were not released.
