DETROIT (WWJ) -- A man is dead and a woman in the hospital after a double shooting, Thursday morning on Detroit's east side.
Ninth Precinct officers responded to calls about shots fired on Houston Whittier Street, near Chalmers, at around 8:30 a.m.
When they arrived on the scene, officers found a man with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.
Police said a woman who'd also been shot was taken by ambulance to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There have been no arrests in the case, and no suspects have been described.
At this time, it's unclear what led to the shooting as the investigation continues. Police added, in a statement: "We extend our condolences to the family of the victim."
