MSP: Man pushes woman out of moving vehicle on the Lodge Freeway in Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) -- State police are investigating a case of domestic violence after a woman was pushed out of a moving vehicle on a Detroit freeway.

MSP says they began receiving reports late Sunday afternoon about a male driver assaulting a female passenger in a black Chevy Silverado while traveling northbound on The Lodge.

When the truck began to slow down, witnesses said they could see the driver pushing the woman.

Eventually, the woman was forced out of the pickup while it was still moving, and as she held onto the truck’s door, the driver accelerated and she fell.

The driver then reportedly stopped, put the woman back inside the vehicle and took her to a local hospital.

That’s where troopers caught up with the suspect and took him into custody.

Police say the man and woman are in a relationship, and had just left a bar prior to the incident.

The situation remains under investigation by Michigan State Police.
