DETROIT (WWJ) -- A Redford man is facing charges, after police say he allegedly threw two kittens out of a moving vehicle, running one over and killing it.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has charged Brandon Lee Dwayne Littke, 25, of Redford, in connection with the incident.
It's alleged that on April 21, at around 11:30 a.m., at a gas station on the 24800 block of West Seven Mile Road near Telegraph in Detroit, Littke threw two kittens out of a moving vehicle. They say he ran over one of them over with his vehicle, killing it, before fleeing the scene. An investigation by the Detroit Police Department led to Little's arrest on April 24.
Littke has been charged with one count of Animals Killing/Torturing and one count of Abandoning 2 to 3 Animals.
“No living being should ever be thrown from a moving vehicle. Ever. Does this really need to be said?" Prosecutor Kym Worthy said in a statement. "The alleged actions of the defendant in this case are criminal and not acceptable on any level.”
Littke was arraigned on April 27 in 36th District Court and given a $25,000 personal bond. The Probable Cause Conference is scheduled for May 7 and the Preliminary Examination is scheduled for May 14.
