
MADISON HEIGHTS (WWJ) — The search for a suspect is underway following a hit-and-run crash in Madison Heights that killed a man who was waiting for the bus late Wednesday afternoon.
It happened around 4:53 p.m. at a bus stop on Dequindre just north of 11 Mile Road, according to the Madison Heights Police Department.
Authorities say a 68-year-old man was waiting for the bus when a gold Toyota Camry went off the road and hit him, before fleeing the scene.
The man was taken to Corewell Health/Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital, where he died of his injuries.
The police department is searching for the gold Camry with a license plate number 8QFV54. Officials say the car has damage to the front end.
No description of the driver has been released.
