Anthony Rugiero, owner of Antonio's and Roman Village restaurants across Metro Detroit, is rolling out a nice gesture on Tuesday and taking half of all sales at his five restaurants and splitting the proceeds amongst his employees.

Rugiero owns four Antonio’s locations – in Livonia, Canton, Farmington Hills and Dearborn Heights – as well as Roman Village in Dearborn.

He spoke about the giveback live on WWJ Sunday, saying the idea was “a no-brainer.”

“We’ve got a group of great people who are loyal, hard-working, dedicated, they understand the importance of what it takes to get through these difficult times,” Rugiero said. “It was a no-brainer. We just felt that it was important that we had to give back to them.”

“When you have a staff that’s out there and willing to roll up their sleeves and do what they need to do to pitch in and work as a team, well, the best advice I can give you, is just to keep those people happy, keep them working with you and your company so the company can continue to move forward,” he said.

Anyone who would like to support Rugiero and his employees on Tuesday can visit any of the five locations between 11 a.m. and 10 p.m.

The restaurants all have a wide variety of Italian cuisine, including pasta, hand-tossed pizza, salads and more. The full menu can be viewed on the Antonio’s website.
