(WWJ) -- Michiganders are getting a very slight break at the pump.
The average price of gas in Michigan has dropped by just one cent, following a record high of $3.31 per gallon last week.
That price is 11 cents more than this time last month, and $1.10 more than this time in 2020.
Drivers are now paying about $49 on average for a full 15-gallon tank of gas.
According to AAA, tightening supplies and increased demand are responsible for Michiganders seeing some of the highest gas prices so far this year.
Despite the statewide drop, metro Detroit's average daily price to fuel up continued to increase from last week.
Metro Detroiters are currently paying an average of $3.36 per gallon -- about 6 cents more than last week's average and $1.12 more than this same time last year.
-Most expensive gas price averages: Metro Detroit ($3.36), Ann Arbor ($3.35), Marquette ($3.27)
-Least expensive gas price averages: Benton Harbor ($3.20), Jackson ($3.23), Flint ($3.23)
