LANSING (WWJ) Michigan confirmed zero new death COVID-19 deaths on Friday, and 101 new cases.
Starting next week, COVID-19 numbers will only be posted twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays.
As of Friday, state data reported more than 230 adults are hospitalized statewide with a confirmed case of the virus. About 60 are in the Intensive Care Unit. About 30 are on ventilators.
This is a dramatic decrease from about 4,000 people hospitalized in Michigan after testing positive for the virus as of early spring.

An Associated Press analysis late last week found that nearly all of the COVID-19 deaths last month were in unvaccinated people. Only about 150 COVID-19 deaths nationwide out of about 18,000 in May were among people who had received both doses of the vaccine.
Nearly all 50 states have reported breakthrough cases of the virus. The Detroit Free Press reports Michigan identified at least 334 as of late April among 1.8 million Michiganders who had been fully vaccinated at that time.
16 of those people were hospitalized and 4 died, according to the Detroit Free Press.
In total, the state considers more than 19,570 people dead as a result of COVID-19. Nearly 866,000 are considered recovered as they are still alive one month after testing positive for the virus. More than 894,000 cases have been reported throughout Michigan since the start of the pandemic.
The statewide test positivity rate is currently at under 2%. Of about 12,000 COVID-19 tests that were reported in the past 24 hours, just over 190 or less than 1.6% came back positive.
The State COVID-19 Vaccine Dashboard shows 56.5% of the Michigan population 16+ have received a full vaccination regimen (either a single-shot Johnson and Johnson, or two shots of Pfizer and Moderna) and nearly 62% have received at least one dose. The Pfizer vaccine is available to anyone over the age of 12.
