DETROIT (WWJ) -- An investigation is underway after a reported road rage shooting on a Detroit freeway for the second consecutive day.
Michigan State Police say troopers were dispatched to the area of I-94 and Chene shortly before 1 p.m. Wednesday after a caller reported he was shot at.
The caller told authorities he was headed east on I-94 when he began "road ragin" with an SUV. Police say the caller was unsure of the color of the vehicle, but said it was possibly brown.
During the incident, police say a black man on the rear passenger side pulled out a black, semi-automatic pistol and fired several rounds at the caller.
The caller's vehicle was not hit, and the suspect vehicle fled the scene.
State police were also called to investigate a freeway shooting on I-94 near Gratiot on Tuesday afternoon.
Wednesday's incident left I-94 shut down for more than an hour as investigators searched for a shell casing. Police say evidence was located and collected on I-94 west of Chene. The freeway has since reopened.
Police are asking anyone who may have information regarding the incident to contact 734-287-5000 or to leave a tip on their mobile app.
