LENAWEE COUNTY, Mich. (WWJ) — Charges are expected to be filed after police in Lenawee County seized more than a dozen guns and various drugs during a raid on Tuesday.
Detectives with the Region of Irish Hills Narcotics Office (RHINO) and multiple other agencies searched a home in Lenawee County Tuesday, Feb. 6, after an investigation led them to a suspected drug trafficker, Michigan State Police announced Wednesday.
While officials did not disclose where the raid took place, detectives found and seized more than 12 ounces of cocaine, "distribution amounts" of LSD, psilocybin (hallucinogenic) mushrooms, 29 pounds of processed marijuana and 16 guns.
Additional suspected narcotics that were seized will be sent to the Michigan State Police Forensic Laboratory for analysis, officials said.
RHINO detectives will be working closely with the Lenawee County Prosecutor's Office to pursue felony charges against the suspect involved with the investigation. The suspect's identity has not been released, as the investigation remains ongoing.
The RHINO office is asking anyone who knows something about the case or any other narcotics activity to call 517-265-5787 or email MSP-RHINO@michigan.gov.
"Remember, you have the option to remain anonymous and your cooperation will greatly assist law enforcement in combating illegal narcotics operations," officials said in a press release.
News of the bust in Lenawee County comes the same day that Customs and Border Protection officials announced officers seized nearly $9 million worth of cocaine found in duct taped boxes inside a truck attempting to cross the Ambassador Bridge.
