FRENCHTOWN TWP. (WWJ) – A 30-year-old Monroe County man is facing charges after he allegedly broke into a home and stole jewelry on Memorial Day.

Monroe County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home on Nelson Drive in Frenchtown Township around 7 p.m. on Monday, May 29 on a reported home invasion.

The suspect, later identified as Ryan Eighmey of Frenchtown Twp., forced his way into the home and took multiple pieces of jewelry.

Investigators were able to identify the suspect, thanks to surveillance cameras in the neighborhood.

Authorities searched Eighmey's home and found jewelry that had been taken during the alleged break-in, according to the sheriff's office.

He was arrested Monday in Brownstown Township and jailed overnight on home invasion and parole absconding charges. He was arraigned Tuesday on the charge of second-degree home invasion. Bond was set at $50,000 and a GPS tether was ordered upon release.

Anyone who knows more about the investigation is asked to call the Monroe County Sheriff's Office Detective Bureau at 734-240-7530.
