(WWJ) — Authorities believe alcohol played a role in an off-road vehicle crash that killed a man and left another person injured Saturday night in Lenawee County.
Michigan State Police troopers from the Monroe Post were called to a field in Blissfield Township — about 10 miles north of the Ohio state line — around 9:30 p.m. Saturday after getting reports of the ORV crash.
Officials say a yellow Honda side-by-side was driving in the field when the driver lost control and the ORV rolled multiple times.
The driver, a 33-year-old man, was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Authorities did not disclose his hometown.
A passenger in the ORV was taken to the same hospital with minor injuries.
Alcohol is believed to have been a contributing factor in the crash, according to MSP, which is continuing to investigate the crash. Anyone who knows something about the crash is asked to call 734-242-3500.
