EAST LANSING (WWJ) -- The "all clear" has been given after someone called in a bomb threat to a residence hall on the campus of Michigan State University in East Lansing.

The threat was reported by phone at 12:30 p.m., at Fee Hall, according to MSP Public Safety, by an unknown caller who gave "specific information."

Officers responded within minutes, and students were asked to evacuate Fee Hall and to report any unattended packages, suspicious activity or people.

There was an increased police presence in the area, including K9s who searched the building. A sweep of Fee Hall was completed and nothing was found, MSP Public Safety said.

After authorities investigated, officials said they were able to determine that the threat was "not credible" and is related to other non-credible threats that have occurred on other college and university campuses across the country.

No further details were released.

Out of an abundance of caution, police said they've asked that the building remain closed for the remainder of the day while they conduct a comprehensive search of the premises to ensure the safety of the MSP campus community.
