(WWJ) – A Northern Michigan woman is facing domestic violence charges after allegedly assaulting her ex-boyfriend and trying to run him off the road.
Georgiana Caldwell of Cadillac has been charged with one count each of domestic violence, assault with a dangerous weapon and reckless driving.
The charges stem from an alleged attack on Aug. 3. Michigan State Police troopers were called to the Village of Manton around 9 p.m. that night.
The caller told police Caldwell had approached him while he was parked outside a business and she began yelling at him. She then allegedly assaulted him.
The victim left the scene in his vehicle, according to MSP, and Caldwell followed him in her Jeep.
While following closely behind the victim she allegedly rammed his rear bumper several times before pulling alongside him.
That’s when she swerved towards his car, causing a collision, and the victim called 911.
MSP officials on Thursday shared photos on social media showing heavy damage to the Jeep’s front end and wheel.
Caldwell was arrested and held at the Wexford County Jail. Her bond was set at $10,000, 10%.
Her next court date is scheduled for Aug. 22.
Authorities have not said what prompted the initial alleged assault in the parking lot.
