(WWJ) - A professional figure skater from Novi remains hospitalized after a scary incident over the weekend during a Disney on Ice performance in the Target Center in Minneapolis.

Novi native Anastasia Olson, 31, is said to have sustained serious injuries, but is in stable condition in a Minneapolis hospital after she fell during a lift while performing as Belle in Disney on Ice’s rendition of 'Beauty and the Beast' on Saturday.

“The skater who portrayed Belle was injured while performing a lift during a pair skating part of the routine and fell. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment,” a spokesperson for Feld Entertainment, the parent company of Disney on Ice, said in a statement to PEOPLE.

Video, which made its way onto Reddit and X, formerly known as Twitter, depicted the unfolding and shocking incident with spectators describing that when Olson fell, she hit her head on the ice and started seizing.

In the video, medical personnel can be seen rushing to her aid. Spectators said the arena lights were dimmed and a medical tent was brought out while Olson received medical care before she was carried away on a stretcher.

Olson is a prominent Olympic skater from Metro Detroit. She was due to return for the Disney on Ice presentation of “Magic in the Stars” at Little Caesars Arena in Detroit Feb. 15-18.

Although originally from California, Olson moved to Novi with her parents at age 8 to be closer to family and began competing through the Detroit Skating Club in Bloomfield Township, her profile with the CandG News stated.

Olson is a 2010 Novi High School graduate and an 11-time competitor in the U.S. Figure Skating Championships.

She was also a national junior medalist and an international competitor for Team USA.

“I was so fortunate to grow up in Michigan and get that kind of training, because, yeah, it is a big epicenter for ice skating,” she told the CandG News.

She along with her partner Jordan Cowan, used to practice at the Ann Arbor Ice Cube where their Olympic banner still hangs along with their 2009 silver medal in the U.S. National Figure Skating Championships.

Jodie Tasich, the skating director at the Detroit Skating Club, described Olson to the CandG News as "a ballerina on the ice."

Although her injuries were listed as serious, Olson’s condition was updated from critical to serious on Monday, a spokesperson for Hennepin County Medical Center said.

No other updates on her recovery or medical status have been released.

Disney on Ice said it “appreciates the well wishes from our fans as our team member recovers.”

The show at the downtown Minneapolis arena continued as scheduled after the incident.
