(WWJ) Oakland County Sheriff's detectives are searching for suspects who firebombed a Pontiac home.
According to investigators, someone used a one-gallon gas can to make a Molotov cocktail, and then threw it against a house on W. Kennett Road, early Tuesday morning.
Detectives obtained a home security camera video from a neighbor, which showed a bright flash – presumably from the fire – and the suspect fleeing from the scene.
The four people in the home heard the fire alarm and were able to escape.
Authorities said damage is estimated to be about $50,000, but there were no injuries.

"We are fortunate this is not a homicide investigation as this criminal act could have led to the death of four people," Sheriff Michael Bouchard said, in a statement. "We are actively seeking the person responsible for this and encourage anyone who may have information about this reprehensible crime to contact the Sheriff's Office immediately."
A $5,000 reward is being offered by the Detroit Crime Commission for the tip that leads to an arrest in this case. Anyone with information should call 800-44-ARSON.
