SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) -- The story of a missing Oakland County man has a happy ending.
According to officials, Byron Johnson walked away from his Southfield group home, near the Lodge Freeway and 9 Mile Road, on Oct. 19 of last year.
The 38-year-old left without any belongings and has been missing since now.
Johnson, who suffers from schizophrenia, was discovered to be at a facility in Grand Rapids on Wednesday after the staff notified the family.
According to Fox 2 Detroit, his family said that news reports helped the person who found Johnson make the connection that he was missing from Metro Detroit.
