TROY (WWJ) – An Auburn Hills woman is awaiting charges after allegedly driving her Jeep on a sidewalk in Troy while she was drunk.
Troy police officials say they received calls around 1:15 a.m. on May 25 reporting a driver headed south on the sidewalk along Crooks Road near Kirts Boulevard.
While they were on their way to the scene, police received another call that the vehicle had become stuck on a tree stump.
Officers found the 32-year-old woman's Jeep Compass on the west side of the road with its front end lodged on a tree stump between the street and sidewalk.
Officers noticed the woman was very confused and her eyes were bloodshot and glassy, her speech was slurred and they could smell alcohol on her.
She was asked to perform several sobriety evaluations, but she performed poorly, police said. The woman, whose name has not been released, refused a breath test.
She was arrested and taken to the Troy Police Lock-up and eventually authorities completed a blood draw for a chemical test.
The case has been turned over to the detective bureau for appropriate warrants once the blood results come back.
