Brandon Twp. (WWJ) A Northern Oakland County woman became trapped on her second floor during a house fire and took quick action to save her own life.
The Brandon Township fire department said they arrived at the scene on Oakwood near Hurd just after 1 a.m. Tuesday. They found the woman, 60, lying in the front yard.
She told firefighters she jumped out of the second story window to escape the flames.
Crews extinguished the fire, and paramedics rendered first aid to the woman. They rushed her to the hospital where she is in stable condition.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
