20-year-old man killed in Thanksgiving Day shooting in Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) Detroit Police are searching for a suspect in a fatal Thanksgiving shooting on the city’s west side.

Police said the shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. Thursday on the I-96 Service Drive near Vaughn Street.

Police told WWJ the victim, a 20-year-old man, was driving a green Dodge Charger.

The suspect was in a gray SUV, possibly chasing the victim, police said.

Someone in the SUV fired multiple shots at the Charger and fled the scene, police said.

The driver of the Charger was killed. His name has not been released.

A motive is unknown. The suspect remains on the run.  Police said more than one suspect may be involved.
