ROCHESTER (WWJ) - Oakland University police say they have identified a man who allegedly exposed himself multiple times to students at the beginning of the week.
In a campus-wide alert, the Oakland University Police Department warned staff and students of at least three incidents on Sunday and Monday of a man -- who has been identified, but is not yet in custody -- approaching students and asking for help with directions.
"Upon approaching his vehicle to help, they noticed that the man had his penis exposed and was masturbating," according to a news release.
Authorities have not released a physical description of the man or his identify, but did say they believe he is driving a dark-colored SUV, possibly a Chevrolet Equinox.
In the alert, campus police said they are continuing to investigate and anyone who witnessed the incidents or who has had a similar encounter should call OUPD at 248-370-3331.
Police are urging anyone with any information to come forward while reminding students who may feel unsafe that they are there to help.
Students who would like additional security while on campus can request a SAFEWalk through OUPD, where officers will escort them or watch them get to their destinations.
