OXFORD, Mich. (WWJ) – Renovations are complete at Oxford High School as students are set to return to the building for the first time since the deadly Nov. 30 shooting that claimed the lives of four students.
Officials with Oxford Community Schools shared pictures Friday of upgrades to the high school’s interior, including fresh paint and new ceiling tiles and carpeting.
Several walls have also been decorated with new graphics and murals of the high school’s mascot, the Wildcats.

School officials say elementary and middle school students crafted snowflakes and hearts with notes of love and encouragement for the high school students. They will be hung on lockers as they return to the building Monday.

While high school students had been attending in-person classes at the middle school, through a hybrid model, they’re set to return to the high school on Monday.
While sports activities had resumed in some parts of the school, most students will be returning for the first time since the shooting. Four students – 14-year-old Hana St. Juliana, 16-year-old Tate Myre, 17-year-old Madisyn Baldwin and 17-year-old Justin Shilling – were killed in the shooting, while six other students and a teacher were wounded.
