(WWJ) Two Detroit residents have been arrested and charged after they were caught vandalizing and stealing from a Detroit church.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy on Thursday announced the case against 56-year-old Robert Gray and 42-year-old Kenyantta King, who are accused of removing of copper tubing from a church restroom.
At around 12:40 a.m. on Tuesday, Detroit police responded to the Bushnell Congregational Church, located at 15000 Southfield Freeway, on a call about a burglary in progress.
There officers found Gray and King, who were being detained by some people in the church, and they were arrested at the scene.
Both defendants have been charged with Breaking and Entering with Intent, Possession of Burglar Tools and Malicious Destruction of Building - $200 to $1,000.
They are scheduled to be arraigned on the charges 36th District Court Thursday afternoon in 36th District Court.
